Medical Information
As you can obviously understand, car crashes are dangerous. They can seriously injure you and kill you. When talking about the medical aspects of car crashes, we usually think about the physical areas regarding the individuals. But, it must be furthermore understood, that apart from physical damages/wounds, we must think about the mental consequences of the individuals. Many people, can not only have problems with using this type of transport again, they can even totally re-live the experiences which are connected with the previous car crash.
When talking about the physical aspects of a car crash injury, we take into consideration mainly internal injuries, such as bleedings, fractures, ruptures of organs, concussions, brain damages, spinal cord damages, but also the external injuries such as bruises, cuts, wounds. Thus there are many things to think about when talking about injuries from car accidents.
The first thing that you need to keep in mind, is the ABC system.
This system, stands for:
A – Airway
B – Breathing
C – Circulation
As you might understand, A – Airway, is the first step to check. This means, that you need to check if the person has an un-blocked airway passage. The second step in this section, is to situate the head in such a position that it allows maximum air passage to the lungs. After this step, you continue to step B.
The second step, is B – Breathing. Basically you check if the patient / individual is breathing. You do this by listening to the sound that the patient makes. If expiration/inspiration sounds are present, you do not need to continue to step C. If these steps are not present however, you need to proceed to step C.
Step C, the last step of the ABC system. This step is restoring the circulation. To do this, you do the typical cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Usually, 30 thoracic presses per 2 breaths. The tempo that you do the thoracic presses, should be 100 per minute. You should do this until the ambulance comes, and can continue with the resuscitation, or stabilization if the individual starts breathing again.
As mentioned earlier, there are a lot of areas of injuries. You can find these areas in this section, by navigating on the toolbar.
